A Message From the Edwardsville Police Department
Thank you for taking time to learn more about the services we provide and the men and women who work hard to insure a safe and prosperous community.
Located south of the Kansas Speedway and west of the I-435 corridor, Edwardsville is among the areas most prosperous communities, featuring a balanced approach of development and strong, but manageable, growth. The city also benefits from excellent schools and public services, but perhaps its best feature (according to many residents) is its blend of a rural, small-town atmosphere and its accessibility to all that is offered by a larger metropolitan region.
The Police Department is currently staffed with 16 sworn full-time officers and 1 civilian employee who serves as administrative assistant and assistant court clerk. Every member of our organization is committed to providing the finest service possible in a fair, impartial, and professional manner.
We expect the highest professional and personal standards from our people, and place a high priority on values such as loyalty, integrity, fairness, and excellence. Those 4 values have become the foundations from which all our services are provided.
The Police Department is committed to organizational transparency, promoting unity and partnerships with citizens, through open communication and with respect for all we come in contact with. We want Edwardsville to be a safe community of which we can all be proud.
Mark Mathies
Chief of Police
