1. LOCAL EMERGENCY DECLARED
Due to the emerging public health crisis, the City of Edwardsville has enacted several measures to help stop the spread of COVID-19, otherwise known as the coronavirus. Both federal and state agencies are strongly urging extreme social distancing measures for individuals and families. This means that if at all possible, please stay in your homes and avoid public gatherings of any size. A more detailed list of the measures taken at the City of Edwardsville is provided HERE. Effective noon on March 17, 2020 there will be no public access to City Hall, though staff is still available via phone and e-mail. Please call 913-356-6000 or 913-660-4599 if you have additional questions at this time.

  1. Be Prepared for Census 2020

Data collected for the 2020 Census is critical for states, counties, and communities. The numbers in the Census help determine the number of seats each state has in the U.S. House of Representatives, guides the allocation of federal funding, helps communities plan for future infrastructure, and much more. Some estimates show a 1% undercount in the 2010 Census. A similar undercount (which is even more pronounced in minority populations) could result in a loss of $4 million in Wyandotte County alone.

The City of Edwardsville is participating in the Wyandotte County Complete Count Committee to help ensure an accurate count for our community. Stay engaged here and on our social media sites for more information about important dates and facts related to this important effort.
