Tis the Season for Charity

Dear Edwardsville Resident,

Do you suffer trying to provide a proper Christmas for your family? Are bills piling up so that you cannot provide a meal or clothing for your children this holiday season? The Police Officers and Firefighters, as well as other City employees of Edwardsville have the Cram the Cruiser/Cram the Firetruck holiday assistance program that provides food, clothing and gift items for children under 12, and food and clothing for children up to 18 for families in need. Throughout the year these employees do various events to raise funds and gather non-perishable food items.

If selected, the program provides your family a holiday meal and food staples for another couple of weeks. Each child is eligible to get new pants, shirts, a winter coat, mittens, pajamas and (if funding allows) new shoes. We will also provide a toy or gift per child under 12. Children and young adults between 12 and 18 are eligible for clothing, coats, and mittens.

If you need assistance for this holiday season please write a 1-2 page essay explaining the need. Please drop this off at the Edwardsville City Hall or the Edwardsville Fire Station, or you can e-mail your letter to the Fire Chief at twhitham@edwardsvilleks.org . If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please contact the Fire Chief at 913-356-6070. We will be accepting these requests until November 3rd, 2017.
