Staff issued requests for bids for its Seagrave Pumper fire vehicle on October 1, 2018. The bid window closed on October 31, 2018. In addition to the standard means the City uses to advertise the sale of equipment, the Fire Department also advertised the opportunity through the Kansas Firefighters Association.
Only one bid came in for the vehicle from Brindlee Mountain Fire Apparatus, LLC in the amount of $45,000. Brindlee Mountain Fire Apparatus is one of the world’s largest used fire truck sales and service companies and are based out of Huntsville, AL. The $45,000 offer was received October 30, 2018 and assumes the unit would be released to the agency no later than March 1, 2019. A pump test no more that 30-days prior to the release is also requested.
The sale was formally approved by the Edwardsville City Council on Noevmber 26, 2018. Brindlee Mountain is expected to take possession of the vehicle in early February 2019.
