Councilman Chuck
Adams
Councilman Chuck Adams was elected to the Edwardsville City Council in April 2007, and had made a swift difference in bringing Edwardsville into a new business-driven era. He takes a special interest in economic development opportunities and has raised the bar for many key processes in the City.
Mr. Adams has a long history in leadership dating back to his two-year tenure as vice president of the Spring Hill High School Student Council and then serving as vice president of the Kansas State University’s student chapter of the American Society of Interior Design. Throughout his adult life he has served on a number of church boards and in community based advocacy groups such as the Kansas City Chapter of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America. He has also been involved in the Kansas Asthma Coalition seeking ways for pharmaceutical companies to team with state funded patient education programs for the improved health of children with asthma. Mr. Adams was a parent representative on the inaugural Quality Performance Accreditation (QPA) Board at Westridge Middle School in Overland Park. Professionally, Mr. Adams has received numerous awards for excellence in leadership and sales. He is widely recognized as a leader in his niche of the healthcare field. His colleagues consider him a valuable team leader as well as a good team player who thinks strategically and is skilled at developing key business alliances. He and his wife own and operate a diabetes supply company. Mr. Adams’ family heritage and varied life experiences have deeply engrained the mid-west values, work ethic and pioneer spirit in all he does – most clearly evidenced by his volunteer spirit in giving generously of his time for the following organizations over the years: The Quality Performance Accreditation Board, Westridge Middle School; Board of Directors of Kansas City Chapter of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America; Board of Directors of the Kansas Allergy Coalition; and locally he co-authored the North End Development Discussion Document that was accepted by the Edwardsville City Council as the protocol for initial discussions with developers interested in developing the north end of Edwardsville 2006. Shortly after election Chuck was appointed by Mayor Rodgers to the Total Transportation Policy Committee (TTPC) of the Mid American Regional Council (MARC), which is a local decision making and policy development body related to multi-modal transportation in the region. Additionally he recently accepted a Board of Directors position with a group that is working to start an after school program for the youth of Edwardsville. His service also extends to his church, where he has been in numerous roles including Deacon of Student Ministry; Elder of Student Ministry; Chair of Leadership Development Committee and Deacon of Adult Ministries. Mr. Adams has lived in Edwardsville more than six years. He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Sue, for 30 years. They have a son and daughter who are both married and living in the Kansas City area and take pleasure in a close friendship with both of them and their spouses. One of the greatest highlights of their life is enjoying their three grandchildren and are anticipating the arrival of number 4 in October.

Councilman
Craig Crider
Councilman Craig Crider was elected to the Edwardsville City Council in April 2007, and has worked to fulfill his promise to the citizens for an open and transparent government.
While he wants to ensure all matters are open to the public from the City’s perspective, on a personal side, Mr. Crider likes to stay out of the spotlight, preferring instead to volunteer without recognition and simply for the good of the cause. He’s quietly been involved with charities such as the March of Dimes Bikers for Babies, the Special Olympics and special needs children in general. His son has participated in many Special Olympics events and has a passion for swimming and track and field. Mr. Crider is also someone that can always be counted on to not only raise money for his special interest charities, but to give of his time as well – such as serving as ex-officio on the Parks and Recreation Board. Mr. Crider has been fortunate to work in the transportation business, which has afforded him the luxury of flexibility so he can give of his time to the City of Edwardsville or other charitable causes. And whether in the role of senior driver, managing a warehouse or just hitting the open highway on his motorcycle for fun, Mr. Crider is always able to look out at the road ahead and make informed decisions – something that’s given him a unique view on the future of Edwardsville. Mr. Crider comes from a family of public servants as well, with many of them also serving in local government, so representing the citizens of Edwardsville on the City Council was really just a part of who he is. The other big part of who he is comes in the form of a 16-year-old daughter Kaleigh and a 12-year-old son Cody that remind him everyday why giving back matters. The Crider family has lived in Edwardsville for 13 years.

Councilman John
Eickhoff
Councilman John Eickhoff was appointed to the Edwardsville City Council in December of 2007. The Mayor recognized his potential to help the city grow and change, and realized the contributions he could make for a new era in Edwardsville. Mayor Rodgers appointed him to fill the remainder of a departed council member's term.
Mr. Eickhoff brings a wealth of public safety background to the job and has held a special interest for this area with the City. He is retired from the Kansas City, Kansas police department where he was an officer for
12 years. He managed community policing programs and more than 15 various community organizations. Mr. Eickhoff has had the unique opportunity to gain an entrepreneur's perspective alongside his job in public service as he's continued to work for the family business - his parent's hardware store - for the past 25 years.
Mr. Eickhoff was born and raised in Edwardsville, and has always had a passion for volunteering for local sporting events and with the school.
For example, he works with Youth Friends, an organization that helps troubled children and he has volunteered and coached football, girls and boys basketball and participates in the Kerry Roberts Basketball Association. When he's not coaching others on how to stay fit, Mr. Eickhoff himself runs more than 10 miles a day, where he's become a recognizable fixture helping residents get their trash to the curb or simply picking up newspapers on his regular Riverview Drive run route. His running partners often try to keep pace - one with four legs (his black lab) and the other with two (his son.)
Recently Mr. Eickhoff has decided to translate his work in public safety to public health, and is pursuing a medical degree at Kansas City Community College. Meanwhile, he will continue to be a watchdog for the betterment of the City of Edwardsville. Along with his wife Michelle and children (12-year-old Tyler and 9-year-old Alexandria,) the entire family also volunteers a great deal of their time to the community - whether through activities such as sporting events or bingo events at the Golden Living facility. It's clear that Mr. Eickhoff has made giving back a family affair.
