quiet zone

As of Friday, June 3, the section of 4th St. north of the railroad tracks and south of K-32, is now open. Commuters can now access the bank, post office, and businesses along this street section from 4th St., south of K-32. The railroad crossing remains closed at this time as County contractors continue to finish work in the railroad right-of-way and on 4th St. south of the train tracks. It is estimated that the the full stretch of 4th St. will be reopened prior to the end of June, when work will move on to sections of 9th St.

The detour to access southern Edwardsville (via 9th St.) remains in place. Drivers cannot access any area of town south of the train tracks via 4th St. at this time.
